Best Practices in Grant Writing for HHS Agencies

Learn best practices and tips for submitting grant proposals to Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies (e.g., NIH, CDC, AHRQ, and others). This session will cover:
  • The fundamentals of successfully competing for HHS agency funding as an early-career investigator.
  • Practical strategies for crafting compelling Specific Aims that capture the attention of reviewers.
  • Approaches for integrating research objectives and training plans to advance scientists toward research independence.
 
This workshop will be led by Dr. Lauren Aleksunes, professor of pharmacology and toxicology at Rutgers University, who is also a grant writing coach supporting early career scientists in their journal to extramural funding.
