The Office of Training Grant Support organizes educational opportunities designed to engage the training grant community in relevant topics in the administration and support of training grants. While these events are largely informational, they are intended to contribute to professional growth and development for training grant administrators. When future offerings are available they will be provided below as well as shared by email to the training grant administrators listserv. ORCID and SciENcv for NIH Biographical Sketches
When: Online/virtual 04/02/2025 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
In May 2025, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will be requiring Senior/Key Personnel to link their ORCID ID to SciENcv and eRA Commons, and will also be requiring the use SciENcv for NIH Biographical Sketches. This workshop will walk you through how to create an ORCID profile, show you how to link ORCID to SciENcv and eRA Commons, and demonstrate the basics of creating an NIH Biographical Sketch in SciENcv. Advancing Research Mentoring Practice (ARMP) from WISCIENCE

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) mentor training requirements emphasize the competencies addressed in the evidence-based research mentor training curriculum, Entering Mentoring, developed by scholars at UW-Madison. Research using this curriculum indicates that at least four but ideally eight hours of training is optimal. Training is offered using this curriculum at no cost for STEMM faculty by WISCIENCE at UW-Madison in the Advancing Research Mentoring Practice (ARMP) program.

The NRSA Institutional Training Program provides institutional research training opportunities to trainees at the undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral levels. This webinar would be most informative for research administrators, Principal Investigators, and grant writers, as well as valuable for anyone involved in the application process who works with NIH Training Grants.

NIGMS 2019 TWD Program Directors’ Meeting Debrief (September 30, 2019)
